Pictures and report as released by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, but I fixed the spelling/order of Driss’s name. Very glad he’s going to be okay.
On Sunday, August 5, 2012, at about 8:05 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash in the Enhanced Sheriff’s Patrol District (ESPD) on SW 185th Avenue near SW Johnson Street. A TriMet supervisor car was struck head-on by an Audi.
Witnesses told deputies that the driver of the Audi, 21-year-old Joel Forsyth of Aloha, was driving at a high rate of speed just prior to the crash. Investigators determined that Mr. Forsyth was driving north on SW 185th Ave. from SW Tualatin Valley (TV) Highway when he lost control of his car and crossed the center line near SW Johnson St. A Ford Escape driven by a TriMet supervisor was in the center turn lane merging into the south bound lanes of SW 185th Ave. Mr. Forsyth hit the Ford Escape head-on and flipped the Ford on its top. Mr. Forsyth then struck a moving truck and came to a stop.
The driver of the TriMet vehicle, 46-year-old Driss Boulhanna, was transported to Emanuel Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the moving truck was not injured nor was Mr. Forsyth’s female passenger. Mr. Forsyth was also uninjured and is under investigation for DUII, Reckless Driving, and Assault. He was not arrested at the scene.

I remain unconvinced that Trimet and the Oregonian will not find a way to spin this to place the blame on Mr. Boulhanna instead. I’ll be thrilled to be proven wrong.
What does it take for the guy to get arrested at the scene? Thankfully Mr. Boulhanna is going to be ok. Now the next battle with Worker’s Comp….
