In the Ruby Throat

This post has nothing to do with hummingbirds*

Heading into the “throat” at Ruby Junction from the storage tracks to leave the yard.

The throat in the Ruby yard is where all of the storage and maintenance tracks converge into two tracks and then diverge into three yard leads to enter and exit the yard. There are a lot of switches in here to make that work so it really helps that they are power switches.

*In a similar vein, an old friend of mine is studying Ruby on Rails, which is a framework for web development written in the computer programming language called Ruby, but I think of trains every time he mentions it.
